Scripture: "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. "The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' "But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate. Luke 15:20-24 I was racing around the house this morning (as usual) and needed a hair clip to put up my hair. Now-a-days it seems like I have to consistently go to work with my hair wet -mom is always last in the shower - and so I just have to clip my hair up and run out the door. I hunted and hunted and hunted throughout my bathroom, bedroom, the girls' bathroom and bedrooms and could NOT find a silly hair clip to save my life. In my house they are like socks that dissappear in the dryer. I buy them and the always get lost or misplaced. The thought came to my mind that we are a lot like those hair clips. If we have given our lives to Christ then God has bought us and owns us, just like I own those hair clips. Nevertheless, a lot of times some of us are lost from Him or we have gotten broken. Personally, I have been both! The good news is that God will always keep hunting for us and the other great news is that he can restore us when we are broken. What a great God we serve! (NO, I didn't ever find a hair clip. You don't even want to know what I look like today! :) Former
Prodigal Prayer: O Father, thank You for always being right beside us no matter where we are in life. When we have turned out backs on you, when we have become angry and bitter with You or when we just have become complacent about You, thank you Lord that You still love us. Thank you for continually calling us to come back home into Your loving arms. Amen. Prayer
Tip: Talk to God just like you were on the phone with your
best friend. Ditch any perceptions you might have of prayer having to
be “done” a certain way. God just wants to hear from you.
He desires personal relationship with you. If you are mad, hurt, confused
or sad, tell Him – He already knows.
