LESLIE'S TESTIMONY

I am a thirty something year old stay-at-home mom ( we don’t have to be specific here.) SMILES!! I was born and raised in Loudon, TN and my parents still live in the home where I grew up. I have 2 sisters and a brother of which I am the baby. I was raised in a Christian home with a lot of love and sacrifice. But I feel like I have only really been born again for the last year. Most of my life I was a casual Christian, just sharing my faith with the people I knew that had already received Christ.

I have been married for nine years to a godly man and we have two wonderful sons who have been my inspiration. When my oldest son, Wyatt, was born I wrote a prayer for him. After he began talking, we started saying it together. He memorized it and says it almost every night to this day. When my second son was born, it was not long before I noticed that he knew Wyatt’s prayer. So I wrote one for him and within two weeks he was fluent in his own. Now my children delight in memorizing scripture and prayers. Glory to His name!!! Following this I wrote a few prayers for close family and friends as gifts of love. But had no idea what God had planned for this ministry!

Thankfully a group of women at my church (Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian) started a bible study last summer. We have completed several since then, including Beth Moore’s, “Believing God” (I am holding up my shield right now!) God has been teaching me more about faith in the last six months than I have ever known in all of my life. Still I had no idea what God had planned for this ministry!

I attended the Walk to Emmaus (Table of Mary, Walk #6, Highland Rim) and am an active member of our local Emmaus Community. I served in the Prayer Chapel on Walk #10 in March 2004 and wrote personalized prayers for the speakers. Their response was priceless. But still I had no clue what God had planned for this ministry!
Of course I was so excited that people were touched by my gifts of prayer, that I wanted everyone to have one, but I knew I could not afford to do that. Then BOOM!!!! God began to reveal to me how I could have a ministry and not just a local thing, an Internet thing! And on top of that, I could also receive a financial blessing. Over the course of two weeks I have been completely amazed at what God is birthing. He has provided me with an awesome outpouring of his love from family and friends who are thrilled to order “Prayers for the People They Love”. I have had church family provide support for the web-site construction and distribution of these gifts. And I know that God has yet to reveal to me all that He has planned for this ministry!

All of this has absolutely nothing to do with me. I am nothing without Him. I am so humbly sharing this with you because Jesus is the only reason for the hope I have. It is Him, not me, that has made “Prayers for the People You Love” an outreach. Take one moment to see this vision with me: A friend buys a prayer for a new baby. The baby’s mother and father read and share the baby’s prayer with him or her. The siblings hear and share it. The baby grows up and begins sharing it with grandparents, cousins, friends, teachers and so on. Now this one scripture based prayer has been proclaimed with boldness and has most certainly been fulfilled in the child’s life. This one prayer has touched not just this one person’s life, but countless lives, one’s we will never even know about. These gifts are just a pebble in a sea of what God is capable of. When we pray God’s word over lives and share our faith with others, He can and will deliver! Hallelujah!!!

I am so excited; I could jump through this screen and hug you for even coming to this web-site! God is mighty and NOTHING is too difficult for him! (Jeremiah 32:17) I am a living testament to that.

Thank you for being a part of this ministry. May God touch your life greatly through his Son, his Spirit and his Word!

Amen
